What size is the Home water cooler?

The water cooler suitable for the home is the size of your average microwave.

Dimensions (HxWxD) 45.5cm x 31cm x 36cm.

Does the cooler have to be installed beside the kitchen sink?

No. The only requirement is that it is placed near a socket, as the cooler is plugged in to chill the water. A 6mm pipe is connected to the cooler & attached to your incoming mains feed.

What are the two taps on the cooler used for?

The chilled tap is for your drinking water.

The room temperature tap gives you filtered water for the kettle & it is also ideal for washing/cooking vegetables.

How often should the filter be replaced?

After 4,000 litres or every 6 months.

What do the filters remove?

The filter attached to the cooler remove taste, colour & odours leaving you with chilled fresh clean water.

What is Hard water?

Water which contains limescale, chalk & other minerals is known as hard water.

What is soft water?

Water that is passed through ion-exchange resin to remove the limescale content, resulting in softened water.

Once installed, how much does it cost to run a water softener?

Running costs are approx €50.00 per year based on 7 x25kg salt pellets being fed into the water softener.

When & how often does a water softener clean?

Water softeners are set to clean @ 2.30am, normally taking 1 hour to finish. This usually happens 2/3 times per week depending on the number of people in the house.

How often should salt be added to the water softener?

The softener should be checked monthly, with a 25kg bag of salt lasting 6/8 weeks. Salt is only used in the cleaning process & does not enter the main house supply.

What are the benefits of using a water softener?

Water softeners provide real cost savings in service,maintenance & replacement of water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines & showers.

Softened water removes existing limescale deposits in water pipes throughout the house.

Where can a water softener be installed?

Water softeners are normally attached to the rising mains in a house. The rising main can be under the kitchen sink, hot press, attic, utility room or garage.
